SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - If you’re in need of housing or are currently facing challenges finding housing, you’re in luck.
The city of Savannah is hosting a Fair Housing Education and Resource Fair this Saturday. The event will honor the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act. The city hopes to inform residents on things like credit counseling, homeowner protection, and the legality of buying a house.
“What we want to do is be able to educate people; landlords, owners, renters, people that are looking for housing, about how they might be able to secure affordable housing and what to look out for," said Kerri Reid, Human Services Director, City of Savannah.
Nine informative sessions will be held from 9 am - 1:30 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center. If you are interested, registration is required by Thursday, Sept. 20.
