RINCON, GA (WTOC) - UPDATE on Jan. 11, 2018: The City of Rincon has lifted the Advisory Boil Water Notice for all areas due to the water line break that occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

The city of Rincon has announced an advisory boil water notice for the East Towne Park residential and commercial areas, the Silverwood commercial areas, and Silverwood Place senior housing due to a water line break.
As a precaution, city leaders advise that all water used for drinking/consumption, cooking, and bathing be boiled until further notice. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
Any food establishments affected by the advisory should contact the Effingham County Health Department for further instructions.
City staff is currently working to fix the water line. The notice will remain in effect until the water system is back to normal operations.
