PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) - UPDATE: According to the City of Port Wentworth’s website, the precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted.
The City of Port Wentworth is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for some residents in the downtown area on Wednesday.
The areas affected include the downtown area bounded by east of Augusta Road, Highway 21, and south of Jimmy DeLoach Parkway.
The city says a temporary loss of water pressure has been experienced due to equipment malfunction in the downtown Port Wentworth area.

The notice will remain in effect until the water system is back to normal and bacteria testing is complete.
