Whitemarsh Island restaurant offers deal for federal workers

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - Wiley’s Championship BBQ on Whitemarsh Island is trying to help federal workers impacted by the partial government shutdown.

The restaurant says workers who present a federal ID can eat for half off.

The owner of the restaurant says she is especially concerned for Coast Guard friends.

“It’s a big family, and they really support us,” said Janet McCrary, Owner, Wiley’s Championship BBQ. “I wanted to do the same. These guys are putting their lives on the line for us every day. It’s the least we can do to give back.”

The children of federal workers can eat for free.
