SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -Savannah College of Art and Design welcomed more than 500 new students from over 42 states and four different countries on Saturday at their annual SCAD day.
There are nearly 15,000 students enrolled in SCAD’s four seperate campuses with locations in Savannah, Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Lacoste.
Over 10,000 reside right here in Savannah.
“I feel like everyone here is so different,” said Libby Miller, a student at SCAD. “Everybody is so centered on art. It creates a really great enviroment for anything artistic, which I love. A lot of colleges don’t have just art majors.”
This SCAD day was the first one held at Ruskin Hall. This was the first SCAD Day at the new Ruskin Hall, which serves as the welcome center.
