Cold & clear for the lunar eclipse

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Wind gusts over 30 miles per continue into the early evening, keeping out “feels like” temperatures in the 40s this afternoon and 30s after sunset. Cloud cover continues to clear out, leading to good viewing conditions for tonight’s total lunar eclipse. The total eclipse begins at 11:41 p.m. and peaks at 12:12 a.m. Make sure to dress warm, wind chills will be in the low to mid 30s at midnight.

A light freeze is expected overnight with lows at or just below 32 degrees. Wind chills will be in the low to mid 20s at sunrise, making it some of the coldest feeling air of the season so far!

If you are going to the Martin Luther King Parade in downtown Savannah, dress warm! It will be sunny, but temperatures will only be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

We will warm up slightly on Tuesday with a surge of warmth on Wednesday when temperatures top out near 70 once again. Rain returns Wednesday night into Thursday, followed by much cooler air.
