Vidalia robbery, murder suspect pleads not guilty

TOOMBS COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - UPDATE: The man accused of shooting and killing a Vidalia store clerk plead not guilty in Toombs County Superior Court Thursday morning.

Tyrone Burns is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, and more.

Prosecutors are also awaiting psychiatric evaluations on Burns.

The case against the suspect accused of a fatal shooting and armed robbery at a Vidalia clothing store is moving through the courts.

A grand jury indicted 29-year-old Tyrone Burns on charges of malice and felony murder, aggravated assault, and other gun-related charges.

Investigators say Burns robbed the RJ Pope Traditional Menswear store at gunpoint last November and shot and killed store manager Brooke Joiner during the robbery.
