Bryan County breaks ground on new fire station

BRYAN COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - Bryan County is breaking ground on a new fire station.

The new “Fire Station One” will serve as Bryan County Emergency Services’ Headquarters. It will replace the current station near the roundabout at Georgia Highway 144 and Captain Matthew Freeman Drive.

It has everything firefighters need, including office space and living quarters.

“You know, this groundbreaking for this new station is long overdue and we are so excited and can’t wait to do the ribbon cutting, to be rolling our first responder units out of it,” said Chief Freddy Howell, Bryan County.

Construction is expected to be complete in November 2019.
