Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigating triple-shooting in Hardeeville

HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) - Jasper County deputies are investigating a triple-shooting that took place Friday night in Hardeeville.

Investigators say three men were shot on Church Road around 10 p.m. after a drug deal gone bad.

Sheriff Chris Malphrus says they received a call from the Coastal Carolina Hospital that three men - all between the ages of 30-45 - arrived there with gunshot wounds. The sheriff says one man is still in the hospital and the other two were taken to Memorial in Savannah.

“From what they explained, it was to buy illegal narcotics, and it was a drug deal gone bad, and at some point, someone opened fire,” Sheriff Malphrus said.

Those men are in stable but serious condition this morning.

Right now, deputies say they are questioning a person of interest.
