Hilton Head Island dog owner draws comics

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - A family of dogs on Hilton Head Island is getting quite a bit of attention these days.

Buddy, Bianca and their four pups, Bella, Benjamin, Buster and Busy, have inspired their owner, Vinnie Frank to create a comic strip series called "Six pack".

Frank is a retired engineer and now lives on the island. He says he began sketching last year after observing the dogs waiting by the stove for their meal. In the series. He's Vinnie man and his wife Joanne is Honey.

"It's just kind of evolved, one thing after another based on their thinking about how I myself get into trouble, that I'm all thumbs and I'm always getting hurt so kind of a clutz in a way and their my protectors," he said.

Frank is hoping to get the comic series published. In the mean time, he's also working on a children's book where the dogs visit New York City and learn all kinds of interesting facts about the history of the city.
