Toombs woman selling cookbook to fight brother's cancer

TOOMBS COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - Millions have fought cancer or know of someone who has; you can't do it alone.

And, that's why one Toombs County woman is doing what she can to help her brother fight the disease.

Felicia Evans collected recipes and published a cookbook. All proceeds from the book will help with medical expenses for her brother, Jason Adams, who has Hodgkins Lymphoma. Felicia works as an EMT and says that training has made her brother's illness harder to handle.

"It hurts because I know no matter what I do I can't help him, only God can do that," she said.

Friends have opened a trust fund for Jason at Vidalia Federal on 300 Jackson Street. The bank's phone number is 912.537.8805.

Felcicia has organized a fundraiser in the streets of Uvalda in front of City Hall, featuring Lance Stinson and other local talent, food, face painting, drinks. The cookbooks will be for sale at $10.00 each. All money raised will go toward's a stem cell transplant for Jason. For more information, contact Felicia at 912.245.8162.
