SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC) - A grand jury has just indicted Craig Heidt for the murder of his father Phillip Heidt and his brother Carey Heidt.

Prosecutors said Heidt, 41, shot them in their home on Springfield-Egypt Road in August 2008. They said he also shot his mother Linda Heidt, but she survived the attack.

The grand jury indicted Craig Heidt on two counts of murder, one count of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, burglary, possession of a firearm and criminal attempt to commit arson.

Ogeechee Circuit assistant district attorney Michael Muldrew said Craig Heidt poured gasoline throughout the home. But it was never ignited.

Heidt will now wait to be arraigned in Superior Court in Springfield. That will likely occur in the next three to four weeks.
