SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Dozens of cyclists, including Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson, hopped on their bicycles for the annual Two Wheels to Work program. Some started in Baldwin Park, others at the Habersham Village.
They all ended their rides in Johnson Square. It gives people the opportunity to try commuting to work, and shows how drivers and cyclists need to share the roadways.
"We want drivers to respect the cyclists, and we want the cyclists to also be good drivers," said Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson,"Together, we're going to make savannah a more bicycle friendly community and a safer community for everyone."
The city is also placing new bike racks at various places around Savannah. They're hoping more people will take advantage of them.
Two Wheels to Work rides are held the first Friday of every month.
