Anderson Fields (Source: Effingham Co. Sheriff's Office)EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - One man is in jail after stabbing another man in Effingham County Friday afternoon. Police were called to the Effingham County Hospital Emergency Room on a report of an individual who had been stabbed.
The victim, George Gibbs, of Clyo, told police he had been stabbed on Mt. Pleasant Road in Effingham County. Gibbs, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was rushed to Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries.
Later, Effingham County Sheriff's deputies arrested Anderson Fields, 49, of Clyo, in connection with the stabbing. Fields has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Fields is currently being held in the Effingham County Jail.
