SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Joseph Tvrdy wears many hats at Benedictine Military School: math teacher, chair of the math department, coach of the soccer and wrestling teams and chess club monitor. But the extra duties are a happy addition to his role in the classroom.
For more than 10 years he has helped shape the minds of young men at B.C and hopes his passion for numbers will translate into success for them.
“Since it is my favorite subject then its good that I am there to help them along with it because some of them maybe most of them don't think of math as something fun or enjoyable to spend their time,” said Tvrdy.
Before serving B.C students, Tvrdy served our Nation, his army training not lost in the classroom. In addition to in success in class Tvrdy has produced two individual state wresting champions, several region championship titles and the soccer team also follows the same winning path.
For all his efforts Joseph Tvrdy is WTOC’s Top Teacher.
