SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's finest gathered Saturday night at the Westin Riverfront Resort to celebrate Greenbriar's sixtieth anniversary.
Sixty years ago Greenbriar Children's Center was opened to care for Savannah's orphaned African-American children.
Saturday night many who have been helped by the organization - their alumni - gathered to share stories and their love for their home.
"We celebrate not only 60 years of hope and love, but we celebrate those persons who had the vision and foresight to establish such an organization," said executive director Gina Taylor.
The founders of Greenbriar were honored at the ceremony.
WTOC's own Dawn Baker was the master of ceremonies of the event.
