Church collects donations for Operation Christmas Child

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - While some are waiting to see how donations will pan out other say donations are up.

Lifebridge Church housed at the Whitemarsh Island YMCA is a drop off location for Operation Christmas Child. Volunteers gathered at the church Monday to wrap and stuff shoe boxes full of goodies for needy children all over the world.

WTOC caught up with one of the volunteers, Jason Smith, who says they have collected over 250 boxes just as their church.

"We take so much for granted there are kids who have nothing, they are excited about the cardbox and we have the responsibility to meet physical and spiritual needs," said Smith.
