WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - The Columbia Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigations is searching for a suspect wanted in three bank robberies along Interstate 95.
The Wachovia Bank in Pooler, Georgia was robbed November 24th at approximately 1:00pm. The FBI believes the same suspect robbed the Bank of America in Bluffton, SC about an hour later, then moved on to rob a Walterboro Wachovia around 2:00pm the next day.
In each of the robberies, the suspect demanded money and claimed he had a gun. In all but one robbery, the suspect fled on foot. The exception is Wednesday's bank robbery in Walterboro, where the suspect is described as getting away in a newer model blue car.
The robber has worn the same clothing in two of the three robberies and a University of Miami Hurricanes baseball cap in all three. The robber has not been observed with a gun, but should be considered armed and dangerous because he has threatened a gun in all three robberies.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man between five feet 10 inches and six feet tall. He weighs between 180 and 200 pounds and has a neatly groomed goatee.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbia Division of the FBI at 803-551-4200.
