PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) - Ann Purcell took the oath office Sunday as she took over the State Representative District 159 seat, formerly belonging to Buddy Carter.
Family, friends and the constituents who voted her in office were there to congragulate her.
She says she plans on working on the education system, transportation issues and the State's budget woes.
"We've got so many things I think are priorities for our coastal region that we will be working on and I especially will have a great interest in and will strive to bring some sort of positive results to it in a given amount of time," said representative Purcell.
WTOC's Sonny Dixon served as master of ceremonies.
