SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Christian Raiders are blazing their way into school history books. The team and hundreds of their fans are headed to Rome, GA for the region one semi-final game against the Darlington Tigers.
The trip to Rome will be the football team's first ever final four appearance in its Georgia High School Association History.
"You can't just be satisfied with what you have done in the past, you have to keep reaching for the stars anything is possible, you know through God and we are just thankful to be here," said coach Donald Chumley.
And its not just their hard work and dedication that's got the Raiders to this point, but their dedicated fans as well.
"We are not going up there just to hear the other team roar, it's us, it's pretty exciting they are always behind us and everything we do comes through them," said defensive back coach Bryan Gray.
"I love the Raiders," said one fan with a smile.
And it's that kind of support the team is depending on to help pull out the win and send them to the championship game.
"I think they give us a great advantage anywhere we play because they come with us and support us with everything we do it's a great thing to have," said offensive tackle Charlie Ferrell.
"Savannah Christian is a family, all together, the parents, the boys, all the squads, the cheerleaders too. Its just like when everyone is there, like a regular family, everything just goes so much better," said cheerleader Sarah Brannen.
And the cheers will hopefully lead to a victory, but, no matter what, win, lose or draw, they know they have the backing of the entire Raider nation.
