SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The School of Music and Crossroad Productions is all set for its grand opening in its new building. The new building is on Highway 80 in Bloomingdale near the Chatham Effingham line and just down the road from the building destroyed by arson. See School of Music rebuilding after arson fire.

We have been following this story since the night of the fire throughout the rebuilding process and now takes us inside the new store.

It's a night that turned Kris Britt's life upside down.

"The fire is something we didn't plan on," said Britt.

Britt watched his store and school go up in flames.

"When you see something like that there's no way to process it, it takes you months to process," said Britt.

But today he turns over a new leaf as the New School of Music and Crossroad Productions opens in their new location.

"We had so much momentum to rebuild and encouragement to rebuild and it seem like that was supposed to happen," said Britt.

Britt took us on a tour of the new school. Each room is filled with equipment and paintings that he salvaged from the fire in fact you can still see the burn marks on some of the instruments like this piano.

"It has a little water damage but it plays better," said Britt.

Britt says he wouldn't have been able to rebuild without support from donations to just the extra hands to install the equipment.

"We all chipped in and did this together you feel like you you owe everybody something they have not asked for a single thing in return and i will be forever grateful," said Britt.

And will always remember how such a devastating loss turned into a second chance.

Pooler firefighters did rule it arson there have been no arrests made.

Britt also says he would like to expand and even start a after school music program.

Saturday is the actual grand opening of the new store and school. For more information, call 912.330.0985.
