SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Recognizing a Savannah man for his passion for education.
For decades James Putney has been involved with local, regional and state parent-teacher associations. Working tirelessly he gets parents and the community more involved in Savannah schools.
Friday, he received the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award from the Secretary of State. Chatham County commissioners had the pleasure of actually giving him the award. Putney has been a county employee, working in the maintenance department, for more than 15 years.
