SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC) - Amongst an Effingham County courtroom full of mostly non-violent offenders, sits defense and prosecution lawyers for the double murder trial of Craig Heidt.

The superior court docket was full Wednesday morning, so much so that even after the lunch break, the Heidt motions case was still under a pile of other cases, including several probation revocation hearings.

It's been almost two years since the double homicide of Carey and Phillip Heidt and attempted murder of Linda Heidt. This is the last hearing until jury selection begins next month.

Judge F. Gates Peed is expected to rule on all the motions except change of venue.
