Imagine you're a father of two and you haven't seen your kids in more than sixteen years. It's probably most parents' worst nightmare, but today all that changed for one man.
It was an emotional day for Rocky Roberts as he finally got a chance to see his 2 daughters Oteka and Kelly as they arrived at the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport. "I've never seen Kelly. I've never held my child," explained Rocky.
Fifteen years ago Rocky was in the Army stationed in Savannah when he and his wife separated. At the time he had a 3 year old daughter and his wife was pregnant with now 16 year old Kelly. That was the last time he saw his family. "She moved around a lot. I tried to find them through friends and Equifax," he said. " I'd get close and they'd move."
During the years of moving, Oteka and Kelly were curious about their father and managed to get a hold of his phone number. Months of chatting over the phone led to their reunion. Kelly Roberts said, "I was so scared. I was shaking. I knew it was him over there. I said oh my gosh there he is."
Oteka added, "We're getting to know him all over again. It's starting brand new."
For Rocky, seeing his two daughters is just one of the many miracles, he also got to meet his new granddaughter named Cassidy.
While they are all excited about finally being together again, Rocky realizes his daughters are waiting to see what he's like. They want to know if he'll be the good father that he says " I know I can be."
Kelly is planning to move to Savannah and actually complete high school here so she can get to know her father better.
