SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police and Hunter Army Airfield Criminal Investigations Division worked together to arrest a woman and charge her with four counts of aggravated assault after incident at Deja Groove, a downtown Savannah nightclub.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8 gun shots were fired in front of Deja Groove. Police say earlier in the evening eight people got into a verbal argument that later became physical. Four women were kicked out of the night club for instigating the incident.
Later that night, the victims left the night club and were confronted by the women again.
Police say one of the suspects, 21-year-old Lasia Owens, went to her car and got a hand gun. The four victims were leaving the area and walking up the the stairs to Bay Street from Factors Walk when Owens started firing her hand gun at the victims. Owens got back into her car and took off at a high rate of speed.
The four female victims, the two women who instigated the argument and at least one man are all active duty military stationed at HAAF.
Owens was arrested Wednesday night and charged with four counts of aggravated assault. She was taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.
