Savannah is billed as Georgia's First City, and now a new advertising campaign is in the works that will have the same focus with a little twist. Today the Savannah Convention and Visitors Bureau adopted a new branding, seen here: Savannah, established 1733.
New magazine ads and billboards will start popping up in a few weeks.
In 2004, tourists spent more than a billion dollars in Savannah. The goal of the new advertising is to attract even more visitors to our historic and charming city.
"This was an opportunity for us to take what was extremely successful in the past and really take it to the next level," said Whip Triplett. "We are competing with other cities for travelers, we are competing with other cities for meetings and we have to do better than what we were doing in the past."
The Savannah Convention and Visitors Bureau hired Anderson Communications to create the new brand. They also had input from more than 20 Savannah community volunteers.
