On Wednesday, the hospital unveiled it's new play room, called the Rainbow Room. The state of the art room was redecorated and filled with toys donated by the Toys R Us, Starlight Starbright Foundation.
In addition to new games and toys, children also have a Nintendo system and a state of the art TV to play with. They'll also have access to computers loaded with programs to help them through their stay. "The programs that Starlight has loaded on the computers teach children about IV's, the x-rays, different procedures they're having done, but in a fun, educational way for them," said Jennifer Morgan, a Child Life Specialist at St. Joseph's Candler.
The unveiling today is part of a seven million dollar donation for the construction and renovation of kids' playrooms in hospitals across the country.
