Daniel Patrick Brosnan, Jr., came into the world early this morning at Candler Hospital, his proud parents' first child.SAVANNAH, GA--A couple from Kentucky rang the new year in with their new baby. The first newborn of 2008 in Savannah was born at Candler Hospital. The baby boy arrived this morning at 4:40am.
Daniel Patrick Brosnan, Jr., weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces. Daniel's mom Sarah Burris says it was a rollercoaster of feelings, but at least they had an seasoned doctor.
"It's exciting, scary, happy," she said. "It's just a whole bunch of emotions rolled into one."
Dr. Gregory Whitaker got the page and said he was glad to help out in the Cesarean birth.
"First baby I delivered in 1977," he told us. "I got addicted and it's a good addiction to have--delivering babies."
Dr. Whitaker has seven children of his own; this is Sarah's and Daniel, Sr.'s first child. The new parents now call Savannah home.
