John Curry will serve as Hilton Head Island's grand marshal.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - Plans for this year's Hilton Head Island Saint Patrick's Day Parade are in full swing. This year John Curry will serve as the parade's grand marshal.
Curry is well known on the island for helping save Sea Pines Resort and other island plantations during a bankruptcy crisis in the late 1980s and for helping to keep the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament afloat during a crucial time.
He says serving as the grand marshal is quite an honor. "I was really happy to receive that honor. I am mostly Irish and I love Ireland so it makes sense to be a part of this. So, I am thrilled," said Curry.
The Saint Patrick's Day parade on Hilton Head Island will be held on Sunday, March 16 beginning at 3:30pm.
