SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The historic 1930s streetcar is right on time with regular runs on River Street starting today.
She actually debuted back in December, but a few traffic and driver training details needed attention.
92-year-old Theodore Page's father was the last man to drive this same streetcar before it was retired in 1946 after a ceremony on the Isle of Hope.
"It feels great. You return to something in history which was once written about including my father. That was a long time ago," Page said.
The historic streetcar makes seven stops along River Street Wednesday through Saturday, between noon and 7pm and it's free.
