SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The World of Breastfeeding Week may have been last week, but that didn't stop one organization from giving well needed information to mothers.

Earlier today, the La Leche League of Savannah held its very first breastfeeding celebration.

The event is designed to help mothers and soon-to-be mothers with solid breastfeeding information.

Everyone in the community was invited to the picnic and carnival having everything from face painting to a bounce house for the kids.

"La Leche League of Savannah is here to support women in what ever their breastfeeding goals might be whether its for two days, two weeks, two months, or two years," said Wendy Cohen of the La Leche League.

The La Leche League of Savannah has meetings every Tuesday at the Family Health and Birth Center on Chatham Parkway and start at 6:30pm.

All types of mothers or potential mothers are welcome to come.
