Savannah, Ga - We are not sure what they put in the water at Savannah Christian, but whatever it is the school seems to have a way of turning out Division 1 golf prospects. This afternoon Chase MacFarland inked a deal with UNC Chapel Hill.

"I worked my whole life to go to college," said McFarland after he signed his letter of intent. "I knew I had to get good grades but to also be able to play golf is just assume."

Last Friday Brian Harman made official what we suspected all along when he signed withGeorgia. MacFarland had considered becoming a bulldog as well but in the end turned it down for the powder blue and white.

"I have always wanted to go there," said MacFarland. “I always liked either Georgia or North Carolina but after I went to Chapel Hill I just fell in love with the place."

Chase joins a program that is one of the best in the ACC. This year they came in 1st in the Franklin Street Invitational, and 2nd in the Duke Classic.

"It was a great atmosphere, a great campus and those are good people," said Chase. "That really helped me make my decision, and they have a good golf team too so that was nice."

Of course Chase is no stranger to success placing 1st in the Region Championship, and 1st in two Callaway Junior series at Clemson and Duke. Next year he fully expects to make an impact as freshman.

"I am going to have to work hard," he says with a smile. “But I plan on playing, no doubt."
