Traffic was brought to a screeching halt on Georgia 21 thru Garden City and Port Wentworth after a tree fell across the north bound lanes near Grange Road.
It happened during the storm. The tree just fell, hitting one truck and causing another to jackknife, completely blocking northbound traffic.
Charles Shank describes what he saw, "It was in slow motion. I saw the tree fall. I yelled at the kids, look. That truck started hitting the brakes and going sideways and in slow motion the thing came down, went right beside the tree to keep from getting crushed."
Traffic moved slowly for sometime as crews tried to remove the tree.
