SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Parents at Garrison Elementary School will get a nice surprise Wednesday night.

All the hallways are decorated with displays showing off what the students have been learning this grading period.

The theme is literacy and science. Today students are putting their final touches on their displays they've worked so hard on. You can see the Yellow Brick Road and Wizard of Oz theme.

"It gives the parents the opportunity to come out and see activities that the students have designed that the content standards that go on during the third marking period," said Principal Ranae Garrison.

"It's rewarding because by combining they get a complete view of what the child is doing, as far as the subjects and how science fits into that, and they can take one night and see what child is learning, " said Dr. Marie Miller, a science teacher at Garrison Elementary.

The student's science fair projects are also on display.
