SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Some elementary students are really making out on some cash.

Today three students earned a total $175 for topping their scores from last year's CRCT.

Hodge Elementary fifth graders Brandon Brooker, Arianna Jones and Christopher Burke are the three students who were awarded the money. Each year 4th grade teacher Monica Simmons gives money to the top three students for excelling on their CRCT test from last year.

"Wonderful, because I finally get something, a reward for doing something good," said Brooker.

"I think it's nice for her to give me that money," said Jones.

"It was pretty nice of her to give us that money out of her own pocket for our achievement," said Burke.

The students say they are not sure what they plan to do with the money. The principal of Hodge Elementary School, Donna Myers, will also give some cash to the students who score above 850 for each subject, last year she gave 25 hundred dollars to students.
