SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The newest Live Oak branch library next to the Savannah Mall will be the first green government building in Chatham County. It is also the second largest.
The library will feature a 200 seat auditorium, 100 public computers, free wi-fi and a Live Oak Tree sculpture made of 75% recycled steel.
"It's a great building and I think when the public starts getting in it and seeing they'll realize just what a wonderful gem the community has,"said Live Oak Library director Christian Kruse.
Because it's a LEED building, it will cost at least 30% less to operate than a building of similar size.
The branch is suppose to open later this fall.
