SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Chatham Academy at the Royce Learning Center on Oglethorpe Avenue just completed renovations.
On Thursday, they held a ribbon cutting to re-dedicate the building. The students were very excited their school got the makeover it desperately needed.
"Our students have really been proud of this building," said executive director Kathleen Fabrikant. "When they came back to school they said 'wow' the sign went up that said Chatham Academy and they were so proud, so they were really part of all this celebration and helped plan this re-dedication."
To raise funds, Royce began a three year campaign that resulted in over $500,000 in contributions. Crews worked all summer to finish the updating in time for the start of school back in August.
