SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Police are investigating a shooting on Savannah's southside that left one woman dead.
Police say a man shot his wife early Saturday morning on Ben Kell Road in the Coffee Bluff area.
Officers arrested 69-year-old Robert M. Johnson and charged him with murder. Investigators say Johnson shot his wife, 66-year-old Mary Ellen Johnson during an argument at their home.
Officers chased Johnson to a gas station at White Bluff and Windsor Road and arrested him. Mary Ellen Johnson was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Johnson was taken to the Chatham County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
