WTOC's Jody Chapin and 98.7 The River's Mark Robertson led the pack for the one mile walk. It was a chance for our four legged friends to sport costumes, and meet new friends. The event raises money for the Humane Society.
"Here are two things we think are really important for people to know about us. Once an animal is screened and deemed to be adoptable and goes into adoption we keep them until they are adopted. There is no time limit on how long animals stay with us. Second thing we are totally unaffiliated and independent and what that means is we have to raise every dollar to operate our shelter and do outreach programs," said Savannah Humane Society Executive Director Lynn Gensamer.
The Humane sSociety hopes to raise about $20,000 dollars from this years Mutt Strut.
