Hayden Howze
Winning artworkSAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A fifth grade student from Chatham Academy is this year's winner of the Saint Patrick's Day coloring contest.
Hayden Howze was announced as the winner Thursday. More than 1,100 students from public and private schools across the region submitted entries of original Saint Patrick's Day artwork.
Grand marshal Denny Herb led the final judging with Sonny Dixon, Mike Brady and Copie Burnett from the parade committee. This year's sponsor, Just For Baby, helped out as well.
Hayden won with his picture of a lazy leprechaun relaxing in a pot of gold while drinking a soda. He is both the overall winner of the contest and the winner of the 5th and 6th grade division.
Hayden will help with the Greening of the Fountain in Forsyth Park on Friday.
