SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – A hot summer night and some hot sounds in town Thursday night.

Rockin' out in about two dozen bars and clubs, a moveable benefit for a woman who's entertained from those same stages.  Lori Stuart and her band "Rhythm Riot."  Stuart suffered a massive stroke two months ago, and Thursday had to watch the shows from a Tybee nursing home, as musicians put on one of the biggest joint- effort benefits ever in our area.

Dana Kennedy, General Manager of The Warehouse on River Street, said, "Everybody's kind of coming together as a city to promote this wonderful woman who's fought so hard. They told her she had 24 hours to live and here she is going on a little over two months and she's fighting strong. She's worked really hard and we hope to make a little bit of a difference in her life."

Even the bartenders got involved, donating all their tips and profits from the shows to help Stuart get better.
