
Stephanie Edwards was welcomed by family, friends, and fans at the airport.
More than 100 people showed up for Stephanie Edward's HomecomingAmerican Idol contestant Stephanie Edwards returned to Savannah Friday night for the first time since the show began.
More than 100 people, some family others just fans, lined up outside the security gates at the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport. They had posters, balloons and flowers waiting to greet their American Idol. Once they caught glimpse of her down in the terminal the cheering began, followed by lots of hugs and of course pictures.
Stephanie said she was shocked by the turnout. "I could hear ya'll from way down there," said Stephanie Edwards, "I was like oh my gosh, this is so great. My heart is just fluttering and I am so happy."
Stephanie's parents stood by and watched as their daughter signed autographs, took pictures, and talked with fans. Her parents said they couldn't be more proud of her.
Stephanie is only home for a little while before she has to head back to California.
