SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A tornado ripped through Effingham County last night destroying homes and vehicles within its path. The storm also caused a major power outage for Chatham County and surrounding areas.
Georgia Power has been working around the clock to restore power to the city. Officials have confirmed the amount of residents without power from an initial estimate of 150,000 to 24,000. They also say that power should be restored to 90% of the city by the end of the day.
