SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Ready for the Big Switch? Starting June 12, 2009, broadcast channels will switch from an analog signal to a digital one.
If you're hooked up to cable or a satellite, you don't have anything to worry about. But if you get your television from an antennae, you need to be ready.
So to get you prepared, members of the Federal Communications Commission will be available for questions on Thursday at the K-Mart on Montgomery Cross Road from 5pm to 8pm.
They will have brochures to tell you more about the switch and can help answer any questions about the equipment needed.
You can also apply for a government coupon to help purchase one of the converter boxes needed to get the new digital signal.
If you can't make it out, remember you can always call 1-888-DTV-2009 to get all of your questions and concerns answered. The number can also be used to apply for one of the government converter box coupons.
