WTOC has learned that the owner of the house that burned on 38th Street this morning was a frequent visitor to a local community center. Sadly, she is one of the victims who died in the fire.
Today a friend who worked with her left flowers on the home's front steps. She says her friend often took in people who needed a place to stay, even if she didn't have much room in her home.
"She was a very generous person," Jule McNamee told us. "Always at the community center, always getting involved in a number of the acitivities. That's how I knew her was through the center."
