On June 12, 2009, WTOC will stop using our analog over-the-air signal. At approximately 8am on June 12, WTOC digital channel 15 and WTOC analog channel 11 will be turned off.
When our analog signal is turned off at 8am on June 12, WTOC will turn on our new digital signal. At that time, viewers using converter boxes must rescan their receivers on their converter boxes to pick up the new, WTOC digital channel 11.
Remember, if you're currently using an analog television to receive free, over-the-air signals, you will need a digital-to-analog converter box as well as an antenna to receive the new, digital signal after June 12.
If you have a newer, digital television, you should not need a converter box. That television should have a digital tuner and be able to receive the new, digital signal.
Fixing reception problems

When adjusting your antenna, try using the signal strength meter found on your converter box or digital television.
The signal strength meter is usually found in the menu feature on the remote control. You can also refer to the owner's manual for the converter box or digital television for instructions on how to find and use the signal strength meter.
Once you adjust the signal strength and antenna, make sure you rescan you channels.
Like analog signals, TV stations will be using both VHF (channels 2-13) and UHF (channels 14-51) to broadcast the new, digital signal.
"Rabbit ears" or indoor antennas are usually used for VHF and "loop" or "bow-tie" antennas are usually used for UHF.
To make sure you receive all the new digital channels, you should use an antenna that covers both VHF and UHF.

If you don't already have a converter box and need one, all US households are eligible to request up to two converter box coupons until July 31, 2009.

If your TV is hooked up to cable or satellite, you should be all set for the Big Switch. However, if you experience problems with our new, digital channel 11 after 8am on June 12, you should call your cable or satellite provider.

Rescan your cable channels (if hooked up to cable) to make sure you're receiving all the channels in your plan.
Rescan your new digital channels (if using a digital tuner or converter box) to make sure you are receiving all the new channels.
Remember, WTOC will now be broadcasting on digital channel 11. If viewers have been watching us on digital channel 15, they will have to rescan in order to pick up the new, digital channel 11.
