The death of the man who transformed Hilton Head Island into a world-class resort has been ruled accidental. Charles Fraser was killed in a boating accident Sunday afternoon in the Caribbean.
Officials say the boat he chartered exploded, throwing him and his wife Mary overboard. He died at the scene, and his wife was not seriously injured. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
Charles Fraser had two daughters and six grandchildren. He was 73 years old.
