We have new information about an accident that killed a Savannah woman in July of this year. The Chatham Grand Jury has returned a true bill of indictment on Micheal Joseph Gooddine for the vehicular homicide of Mrs. Dorothy Stevens.
On July 27 around 12:30pm, Stevens was leaving church when a black Mustang slammed into the back of her car. The impact smashed Stevens' car into a tree and several parked cars. Officers say she died instantly.
The driver of the Mustang ran from the scene. Since the day of the accident, traffic investigators have actively worked to identify the driver. They are now awaiting the results of DNA tests to officially charge Gooddine in the case.
