SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Like Sean Ratliff or Josh Satin, when it comes to the Sand Gnats, Kevin Long and Jeremy Woods know how to put runs on the board.
But unlike Ratliff or Satin, not many Sand Gnats fans can recognize them
"Not at first. I don't think they really know who we are," joked Woods. "They're like oh yeah, where'd these guys come from. Those are the scoreboard guys."
The two take turns every 4 ½ innings. One sits on a platform while the other watches the game to make sure they don't miss anything.
"It goes back to an old tradition. It keeps an antique value to the stadium", Woods explained.
But don't think that just because Kevin and Jeremy spend the game behind the scenes, that aren't having fun.
"Best part of the job, getting home run balls," said Long.
So the next time you head out to Grayson stadium, just keep in mind, there's more than one way to post runs on the board.
