SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Members of the Bravo Company 1-169th Aviation Brigade of the Georgia Army National Guard got a fond fairwell early this evening at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.
Soldiers held a reception for their families.
This will be one of the last gatherings the group will have with their loved ones before they deploy overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Maintainence Officer Jeff Hutchinson explained why the event is held.
"It kind of give the families a warm feeling that the leadership is concerned and that they will remain so during the entirety of the mobilization," he said.
The Bravo Company was also deployed to Afghanistan in 2005, where they flew over 8,000 combat hours, and moved millions of pounds of cargo.
